Custom Skins:
How a unit or building in Warcraft 3 looks depends on two things, its 3D model, and the skin that goes over the model. Of
the two, the skin is the easiest to modify. Stored as .blp files, Skins can be easily converted to form that can be modified by any
graphics application, such as Paintshop Pro and Photoshop.
The skins listed below come in one of two formats. We explain them below:
BLP Format:
The first is a raw .blp file. While such a skin cannot
be used readily till it has been compiled as a MPQpatch, or inserted into a Specific Map, they're great for experienced
users who want to use the skin as part of the scenerio or campaign.
MPQ Format:
This format is more for the general user, and great if you're not experienced with mods. Simply
rename it as war3patch.mpq and replace your original war3patch.mpq with the file and you'll get the new skin. Be sure to back up your original copy though!
