An absolutely stunning looking new screenshot is presented to us today. A large battle between The Undead and The Aliance is being taken place near a mercenary camp. The Human army consists of several footmen, a couple Dwarven Riflemen and a Sorceress, who are vastly outnumbered and outgunned by the Undead's level 3 Lich, Frost Wyrm, Ghouls and a hired Ogre and Troll. Although the Human forces are to be commended, since there are quite a few dead ghouls on the bload soaked forest clearing. The most interesting part of this screenshot is the structure in the middle, which is partially new, and seems to be the Human Cannon Tower. It looks very impressive with what looks like a swivelling tower top and adjustable cannon poking out, but not half as impressive as the giant Glacier encasing the entire building! :) Strangely, the exact source of where the Glacier came from is somewhat of a mystery, but I do have a theory. =P Last time we checked, the Glacier spell belonged to the Lich, but if we look into his icon section in the bottom right, the Glacier spell is nowhere to be seen! There is just a solitary icon for the Frozen Armour spell (which, incidentally, we can see cast on the Ghoul in the middle of the screen). The Glacier spell might just have been given to the Frost Wyrm, it certainly would suit it, both being of a cold nature, although the Frost Wyrm is supposed to be a very powerful attacking unit, so giving such a powerful spell (or any spell at all really), would seem to overpower the Frost Wyrm. So that seems like an unlikely prospect, so this is quite a mystery. Other things of interest in the screenshot, include the spell effect on the left-most Ghoul, there really aren't many options for this spell to be that we know of, except the Sorceress' Slow spell, or perhaps it could be something the Troll has cast on it, as the Troll seems to be waving it's arms about for some reason. :) Although as far as we know, it was only the Troll Shadow Priest's who had spells... A very mysterious screenshot it seems, as for the interface; up the top-right we see the Upkeep indicator again, this time the player has already entered into Low Upkeep with 48 units. Looking down in the inventory, we can see the Ring of Intelligence, which has added a few points to the Lich's intelligence. Overall, a very enjoyable screenshots, with new eye-candy and mysterious occurences. -Chib The screenshot is provided by Blizzard. - Posted 12-12-2001
