Night Elf Structure Archive: -Last Updated 23/12/2000
Out of all races, with the exception of the undead, Night Elf structures are the most unconventional. They consist of two types, those that are alive, called Treants, and the more usual type, those that are not alive, called Dens.

Living buildings are created out of animated wood. These usually resemble trees of one sort or another, and can automatically regenerate. The Night Elf peon, Ents, create living structures by transforming into them, much as Drones do in Starcraft. The catch is, these structures may uproot themselves to become Treats if necessary, to move around and attack.

While the attack is fairly weak for their cost, Treants have a lot of hit points, and hence will post enough threat to negate most early rushes. In addition there are Treant Structures designed specifically for offensive purposes which have a much more deadly attack. While in Treant form, a building may not perform its normal functions. It is currently unclear whether all Treants share the same graphics, or if different Treants for different structures will look different.

The 'dead' buildings, termed, as Dens by Blizzard, are much more conventional, built out of stone and marble by the Ents. These are immobile, and can be repaired. In fact, they behave the way you'd expect structures to.

Tree of Life:

Prerequisites: None
Allows: Ents
Upgrades: Unknown
The Tree of Life is the center of any Night Elf settlement, and holds the essence of nature. A portion of this essence is bestowed to saplings, bestowing them mind and soul. These saplings then become Ents, the essential worker in a Night Elf community.

Special Commands:

Create Ent: Creates the essential worker for Night Elves

Uproot: Currently Blizzard is still considering whether to give the Tree of Life this ability. If so, it can transform into a Treant and gain attack and move options.

Blacksmith:

Prerequisites: Unknown
Allows: Unknown
Upgrades: Unknown
The first structure that is made out of stone, the Blacksmith provides Night Elves with enchanted weapons. Currently not much else is known. Special Commands:

Enchanted Missile Weapons. Increases the damage done by all missile attacks.

Enchanted Armor: Increases the defense of all armored Night Elf units.

Sentry:

Prerequisites: Unknown
Allows: Unknown
Upgrades: Unknown
A living Night Elf 'tower,' the sentry may be considered as a slow moving unit, except the fact that it is made by the transformation of a Ent. Unlike other buildings, the Treant form of a Sentry is significantly faster (though still slow) and can attack in both mobile and immobile forms. A Sentry attacks by sending its roots into the ground, which rise up under enemies, impaling them from below.

Special Abilities:

Root: In immobile form, the Sentry gains extra range, as well a more damaging attack. In addition it can also regenerate. Think of this 'building' as one that functions similar to the Terran Siege Tank.
