How does combat work in Wow?
Blizzard states that it'll be a 'An action-packed combat system delivers fast, furious combat against multiple opponents'. Pretty vague huh? Whatever the case, Blizzard assures us that combat will be somewhere between that of EverQuest and that of Diablo II. It'll work on a point and click basis, and will be easier to manage and faster paced that current MMORPGs.
In the current version, to attack a monster, you simply click on it once. Your character will then hack at the beast till he's dead. Whenever you hit your enemy, a number for show up in the main screen indicating the amount of damage you did. Much like Diablo II, the life of your enemy is displayed as a bar on the top of the screen.

Yes, there will be food in WoW, but they are not a requisite for survival. Eating an apple or a fish will temporarily increase the rate you regenerate health, and in some cases mana. So when your hurt, munching on a piece of ham does help. You will not suffer any penalties for starving, though.

Can you give a rough description of the interface?
This onscreen GUI consists of many elements and whatever you are doing with the GUI you can always move your character in the world so you'll always be able to change your armour or weapon while still hightailing it away from the approaching hoards of enemies. At the base of the screen small tabs popup inventory, equipped items, and spell windows which you can use to bind hot keys to spells, manage the possessions you are carrying, and equip your character with armor and weapons all with a drag and click interface. Centered between there tabs is the chat dialog box which you can use to interact with your fellow creatures.
To the top left of the screen is your portrait, modeled in 3D in keeping with the standard, with health and mana gauges. While these gauges only give a indication of your remaining strength hovering the mouse over them brings up hit points so you can tell if you can survive the fight. The most important part of the GUI is in the top right of the screen as this contains not just the name of the area you're currently exploring but also a mini-map. This mini-map not only points out the local terrain but also shows enemy/ally locations (with red and blue dots) in the nearby area and has arrows pointing to the other areas you've either discovered or need to visit to complete the current quest.
What are the controls?
Arrows keys will be used to move around, the mouse will be used to interact with the environment (attack, pick up object etc)..
How does the inventory work?

How will Spells work?
Blizzard has been very vague of spells, but they stated that it'll function similar to the way skills worked in Diablo II. This means that fighter classes will also have a number of skills to choose from.
What Happens when you die?
When a player dies in World of Warcraft they will reappear with all their equipment at special locations throughout the world. Players will suffer some penalty from death, but not enough to ruin their gameplay experience. I suspect that this will work similar to Asheron's Call, where a person who just died will have penalties to his skills, which he can then 'work off' by killing a few monsters. Either that or you just lose gold and will need to go back to your corpse to recollect your equipment.
How will World of Warcraft differ from other MMORPGs?
World of Warcraft will differ from other MMORPGs in many ways. One of Blizzard's main goals is to ensure that players can enjoy World of Warcraft without having to invest huge amounts of playtime. Players will be able to complete quests and experience the world at their own pace-whether it be a few hours here and there, or week-long adventuring marathons. Additionally, Blzzard's quest system will provide an enormous variety of captivating quests with story elements, dynamic events, and flexible reward systems. World of Warcraft will also feature a faster style of play, with less downtime and an emphasis on combat and tactics against multiple opponents.
