Ever since the start it was claimed that
Terrans can't rush. True to the word 1 Marine can even beat 1 Zergling.
However in large numbers Marines can be the most lethal unit in the game.
Costing only 50 minerals, they are far more cost efficient compared to
that of Hydralisks and their range allows them to get rid of zerglings
before they can deal any harm. Also I'd like to Thank Kazyras2
for Supplying the idea.
The build order below details the build order
of the Terran marine rush, so far it hard to imagine how any Zerg player
can survive such an onslaught. However a Protoss player going for reavers
will easily disable the rush.
Early Build Order:
1) Start the game like any other game. Build
your Supply Depot while building your 8th SCV.
2) When resource allows construct a Barracks.
At the same time make sure your Command Center is constantly training SCVs.
You will need them to support 4 Barracks shortly in the future.
3) As another 150 minerals is reached construct
the second Barracks. Now construct a supply depot when 100 minerals is
reached. When your first Barracks is complete, Start training Marines while
getting SCV to build your 3rd Barracks.
4) As your second Barracks finishes, train a Marines.
Now use that SCV to build a supply depot as soon 100 minerals is achieved.
5) By now all your Barracks should building building
force Marines. When your 3rd Barracks in complete construct the 4th one.
Start building a supply depot whenever your supplies is 6 less than the
max, you never want hear the message: "Not enough supplies."
6)
As your 4th Barracks is complete, you should able to just maintain will
four in constant training. Now group every 12 Marines is a tight group
and hotkey them. By now you will need 1 SCV constantly building Supply
Depots and you would probably reached the maximum efficiency with your
SCVs
7) At this rate, it would not take long before
you have reached 36 Marines. Group them is 3 group and send them up using
the Attack Move command.. now the fun begins.
Execution of the Marine rush:
With 36 Marines under your command and more constantly
training at your Barracks the enemy is sure to fall. Zerg is no proper
counters for Marines till they have Guardians or Defilers. However you
still to beware as Zerg Players can produce very fast...
1) Always use the attack move command, this way your
marines can target different units and will always use their range to their
best advantage.
2) As your Marines are charging up.. build a refinery
at Mainbase. At the same time make sure Marines a bring pumped out constantly.
3)
When you Marines the enemy base destroy everything in site. The enemy will
have nothing but Zerglings and Hydras or 1 or 2 Muts with nothing else.
You should be able to take out the Zerg base and be still left with 15
or so Marines.. now just send in reinforcements.
4) You would be surprised how fast 36 Marines
can level a base =)
Marine Rush variations:
The only way a Zerg player may survive your attack
is by building 3 Hatcheries and pumping out hydras... however no
matter what their base with be Mutilated and their attack force destroyed.
now the cost advantage of Marines becomes evident as even with 4 Barracks,
one can still climb the Tech tree.
1) If your Attack was destroyed by Hydras or Sunken
Colonies, build factory immediately. This may pause your from build Marines
for a few seconds but soon you'll be pumping out Marines again.
2) If you can build Marines build them, it won't
be long before you get 40+ Marines again.
3) As soon as Siege Mode and 2-3 tank are done
send your whole attack force to the enemy. For the enemy to have survive
attack, he could not of afforded to climb the techtree and so I3 Siege
tanks in siege mode can spell doom for the Hydras.
Overview:
This strategy is a must to use against Zerg Players
especially those who thinks they can rely on just the Zerg mutalisk. A
average can using this tactics will be around about 10 minutes allowing
you to get a lot of Rating is a short time.
