Kal walked down the long corridor, of the Protoss carrier, toward the bridge. Other Protoss troops and officers headed the opposite direction of Kal. Each troop had their own duty and they were tending to them. Kal's eyes flamed after every pass. Each soul reminded him of every one lost on that last raid. All that work and all for nothing! As long as Michael was still alive, there was still a chance of failure in holding up the terms of alliance. He almost had him, but Michael was to stubborn and wouldn't buy the myth story. Was there really a hidden temple? Kal didn't know, and personally he didn't care. He just wanted Michael dead, no matter the cost. Michael had posed a threat for long enough, and now Kal had found a new target.
Kal reached the end door and placed his hand onto a metal pad next to it. With a blink of an eye the door had separated, inviting Kal into the main bridge. The large cell gave Kal more than enough room to breathe, with high walls and a wide range of space. It was a huge air bubble. Everything around him was illuminated in blue, and there was no windows to see out of, just walls. He walked forward to the command post and pressed a few buttons. There was a light humming sound and in between him and the front wall a digital screen appeared as if made by a cluster of molecules.
The picture showed Kal all the destruction he had accomplished on the desert moon of Shalheer. He looked with pride for a moment, then something caught his attention. There was a blinking red light on the console. Kal, annoyed, answered the call, "Speak."
The voice took a moment to respond, "En Taro Tass..."
Kal sat back agitated by the interruption of this call, "SPEEK!"
The voice took another moment and quickly responded once more, "Executor, we have multiple terran units approaching from the North."
Kal leaned forward again. His eyes glazed at the sight of the UED armada. He turned to two guards standing at the entrance to the bridge, "Take the psi emitter to the base, I'll handle the Terrans.
The two guards nodded and headed out the door. Kal turned back around toward the screen and watched for a moment. Two scouts and a transport launched out of the carrier and headed toward the moon. Kal grinned, this was all too easy. The transport landed and a probe was unleashed with the emitter. It traveled into the heart of the UED camp and set the emitter. The probe scurried to the transport and boarded. The transport took off and headed back to the carrier. In 5 minutes the base went from empty and ghost like to covered with Zerg. The complexes were overrun, buildings brought down in minutes, already dead bodies torn, limb from limb.
Kal watched as the scapegoat did its job. He pressed a few more buttons and began speaking. His voice echoed throughout the great Protoss fleet, "This is executor Kal'Buldaras. These Zerg have invaded the moon of Shalheer. Extermination is a prime directive." Move out and annihilate!"
With that, every living Protoss soul jumped to action. Scouts were launched, interceptors were activated, shuttles dropped fierce zealots onto the charred planet. Monstrous dragoons opened their canopies and fired on the clueless Zerg. It was a massacre, and Kal loved every minute of it. He observed the scene with utmost interest. There was no doubt that it had to take a genius to devise such a plan. Too many careful, precise measures had to be taken.
"Sir." One of the Protoss officers said. "We are receiving a hail from the UED flagship Alberstane."
Kal smiled as he pressed a button on his console, changing the giant screen's picture of battle, to that of an old fat man, dressed in fine Terran admiral's clothing, sitting in his command chair.
Kal spoke first. "Good evening admir..."
"What is the meaning of this?!"
Kal tilted his head, "Meaning of what ad..."
"What the Hell?! You think I don't see your forces attacking my outpost?!"
"Admiral let me explain..."
"You have exactly one minute to state your reasons, then we commence attack!"
Kal could not believe this man. How arrogant these Terrans were! Did they actually think they'd stand a chance against a relatively larger Protoss armada? But Kal could not risk the loss of allies.
"Admiral, do you really think that I would attempt to break our relationship? I simply came on routine security check. When we got here, we found the place overrun by the Zerg. See for yourself admiral."
The admiral extended his neck over a little and looked beyond the screen, then came back, "Hm so it seems I have mistaken you. For that I apologize...however, don't try my patience."
Kal raised an eyebrow, "My sincerity sir."
The admiral nodded and shut communication. Kal watched as the Terran fleet turned and shot off. He looked around and started for the door. The attack was over now, and they could leave as soon as everyone had reported back to the fleet. But Kal had no intention on leaving. He was going to stay, until he had Michael's head mounted on his wall.
