Chapter 2 : Holy Vision

Kudran saw a weird creature standing before him. It had a snake like tail and long claws. It soon disappeared into a swirl and a new figure appeared in front of him. The creature was tall and bony. It had no facial features except two eyes and some "hair".

"Come with us." it said and reached out a hand. Kudran raised his hand and tried to grab the creature's hand. Before he could he was awakened.

"Hey Kudran. You alright?" Kristine asked.

"Wha- Kristine!"

"You've been talking in your sleep." she continued.

Kudran shook his head. "Oh..."

"Hurry up, day light's gone. Time for the attack." she said.

Kudran began to remember things. They were here to attack the Orcish village, the weird one with portals appearing.

"Today's the day we try out the new Gnomish Cannons." Kristine said matter of factly.

"Oh yeah, I remember now." he replied. They saw the huge cannons moving their way, Ballistaes right beside them. They saw one of the cannons stop and the Gnomes began changing the wooden tires and stuck the cannon onto the ground.

"Heh, the new "cannon" mode. Pretty neat. Watch." Kristine said.

They saw the black cannon move upwards, then they heard it, the huge blast that let out the explosive cannonball. It flew farther then anyone did expect. They couldn't see where it landed but knew they hit an Orcish farm when they heard pigs screaming and Orcs shouting.

"Get ready!" screamed a Paladin.

They saw the forms of the Orcish Army coming their way.

Kudran heard an Elven Ranger.

"Ready... aim..."

Kudran and the other archers readied their bows then aimed at the Orcs' heads.

"Fire!"

The archers let go of their strings, their mighty arrows flew through the air, some missing, most of them hitting their targets. The Elves ran back and another thunderclap filled the air then a cannonball flew by and hit more Orcs. Orcs flew back and hit other ones, most of them dying from the impact.

Knights and Footmen ran past the Elves and began their attack on the Orcs. The Grunts ran away from the Knights but attacked the footmen. The Ogres took on the Knights, their huge size matching the Knights.

Ogres surrounded one of the Knights. He moved back then made his attack. His horse kicked back and hit the Ogre behind him. He then hit the one in front of him with his mighty hammer. The Ogres tried to punch the Knight but his horse prevented them. It was like the Horse knew that its master had to live. It kicked out with its hind legs and smashed an Ogre's face in. The Knight hit another Ogre with his hammer. There were too many.

He heard something fly through the air and the Ogres fell to the ground, arrows stuck in the back of one of their heads. He looked around to see Elves smiling at him then jumping through the trees to sneak upon other Orcs.

Kudran stayed behind the group. He was going to escort the mages that were to arrive soon. He aimed his bow and aimed a Grunt who was attacking a footman. He waited, and... fired. The arrow pierced through the foggy air and hit the Grunt in the back. The Grunt groaned and fell forward only to be stabbed by the footman's sword. The footman looked at Kudran and nodded then went off to attack more Orcs

Orcish Village in Korhal...

Ner'zhul stared at Teron.

"What? What do you mean the Alliance is attacking us!" he shouted.

Teron stood still and answered in his low creepy voice.

"Our village in Azeroth was attacked. We can't open a portal to there, it would be too risky at the moment." Teron replied.

"You're right. If the Alliance were to know of our movements then they will undoubtfully follow... but that village was where all our supplies were coming from." Ner'zhul said in a low sad voice.

He waved his hand and Teron Gorefiend left.

Ner'zhul stared at the crystal before him. He had smashed it several times with his axe and it hadn't broken until his tenth try. He turned his head and saw his new warriors before him. A Necrolyte, an Orcish spell-caster that he had once tried to exterminate and a Warlock, another Orcish spell-caster.

"Welcome my new warriors." he said.

The two orcs bowed in return.

"What do you think of this crystal?" he asked.

The Necrolyte stared at Ner'zhul with his dark red eyes. "A weapon, but not a weapon of Magik." he answered.

The Warlock nodded. "I think as he does."

Ner'zhul smiled. "Do you have any idea how we might mold it?" he asked.

The two shook their heads.

Ner'zhul sighed. Then smashed his fist onto a wall, agitated.

The Necrolyte's eyes changed color for a few seconds. "I see creatures, not far from here. They are pale... easy prey." he said.

His eyes turned red again.

"Ah... your Dark Vision... ever so useful." Ner'zhul said with a smile.

"Then a new battle is to occur!" he continued.

One of his advisors came to him. "My master, we cannot risk more lives. We don't have as many Orcs as we did before and we have no where to teleport them from." he said matter-of-factly.
Ner'zhul screamed out loud and stomped his foot. "Who cares? We will teleport more Orcs from Lordaeron!" he shouted.

"Maybe we can be of some service." the Warlock said.

"Good. Then go and kill these pale creatures!" Ner'zhul shouted.

Protoss encampment on Korhal...

A Troll stopped when he saw one of the pale creatures. He aimed his axe then threw it. The axe whipped through the air and hit... but not the creature. It had hit the air before it and a blue tint filled the area. The Troll was stunned. The creature turned around then raised its arm. A magical sword grew from his palm and the creature ran towards him.
The Troll jumped back and threw another axe. Once again the axe hit the air and a blue tint filled the area. A magical barrier was surrounding the creature. An Orc Spearman (Yes there is such a unit. Warcraft 1!) threw his massive spear. Like the axe, the spear hit nothing and fell.
The Necrolyte who had been watching was amazed. Never in his life had he seen such a barrier. He chanted one of his spells, the Shadow Spear. The Dark Arrow flew straight towards the creature and hit it. The creature flew back in agony.

More creatures came out. Some having four legs. The Warlock who was beside the Necrolyte thought they were spiders and summoned his own spiders. The tiny little creatures began making their way towards the pale creatures and spiders.

Many of the spiders didn't make it and the ones who made it to the four-legged spider never came out. The Warlock was angered by this and casted a fireball. The barriers around the creatures protected them from the heat and fire.

"Retreat!" shouted one of the Grunts.

Some Orcs stayed and attacked but did no sufficient damage while the others left the area. Running back to their village. The attack was a huge failure.

Terran Outpost, Dilogin, Korhal. 10:13 A.M.

"Hey Bob! Hey yo!" shouted a marine.

"Yeah what?" asked Bob.

"What the hell is that over there?" the marine asked.

Bob stared off into the distance and saw vaguely humanoid figures running in their direction.

"Looks like Terrans to me Dan." Bob replied.

"Oh. Well why the hell are they green?" Dan asked.

"What? Man, gimme them 'scopes." Bob commanded.

Dan handed Bob his binoculars. Bob looked through them to see that Dan was right. He zoomed in some more to see Protoss behind them.

"Hey uh, Dan. Red Alert dude. We got 'Toss and green guys comin'" Bob ordered.

Dan ran across the fields warning the Terrans. The marines all got in their bunkers, tanks changed to siege mode, and every other soldier armed themselves.

The Orcs were highly disorganized and they had no idea where they were running to. They heard thunder and many of their brethren died before them. The Orcs screamed and kept running. The Necrolyte and Warlock had known which way to go and had gone back to the village.

The running Orcs looked behind them to see the pale creatures also exploding. That's when they figured out that the creatures' barriers weren't impenetrable.

"Attack!"

The Grunts ran at the creatures and kept slashing. The Spearmen and trolls threw their respective (or unrespective) weapons. More thunder sounded and the creatures, as well as their own, exploded. Some kept running only to fall down because invisible objects pierced through their skin.

"Keep shootin'!" shouted a marine as he unloaded his bullets into another green creature. The other marines did so as well, killing the green creatures and the Protoss. The field in front of them was red and blue with blood...

Azeroth...

The Mages of Stormwind stared at the huge Portal in front of them.

"Where would this lead?" one of them asked.

"Draenor?"

"Maybe another universe!"

"We must talk with the king." another mage answered.

That night a huge meeting took place in a Town Hall. King Terenas sat on his throne and stared at the mages.

"A portal you say?" he asked.

"Yes my Lord. We don't know where it goes though." a Mage replied.

Kudran was also there. Sitting amongst the crowd. Something had told him to come here.

"The Orcs have made a new portal. Most likely to Draenor. Nothing to worry about." the King said.

Kudran stood up. "My Lord. I suggest we all go through. Staying here would mean certain death. Azeroth is lost. I suggest we build a new colony on the other side of the portal and try and survive from there." he said aloud.

"Are you insane?" asked the King. His voice rising.

"Think about it my Lord. Lordaeron is lost, the Nation of Alterac is almost gone. We cannot survive here, not with all these Orcs here." Kudran continued.

"We can't leave! This is our home! We beat the Orcs before and we will do it again!" he shouted.

Kristine grabbed Kudran and pulled him down. "What are you doing?" she asked.

"I had a dream on the day of the assault. I'm sure it was a vision from the future." he replied.
"We have to go through the portal." he continued.

The King calmed down and thought about what Kudran had said.

"Kudran... I've always trusted your visions. Amazed that you're not a Mage." The King sighed then continued. "I know that this decision is something many people will disagree with. Kudran, I want you to go through the portal with every piece of lumber, gold, and oil we have. Take as many peasants as you want as well. I will stay here and protect the area I was born in."

Kudran stood up again. "Sire, I beg of you, come with us. The Alliance is gone, the Orcs have won. Please trust me." he begged.

The King shook his head.

"I cannot leave Kudran. This is my home, I will die here." King Terenas replied.

Kudran stared at the King. He looked to the chair beside the King to see Prince Terenas II.

"Then let the Prince come." Kudran begged.

The King stared at Kudran then looked at his only child. He saw his son nod. King Terenas sighed.

"Fine... but stay for one more day." The King ordered.

Kudran smiled and sat back down... only to stare at Kristine's glaring eyes.]

"What?" he asked.

"Are you insane? The Orcs could be waiting for us over there!" she whispered loudly.

Kudran smiled, stood up and left. Once outside, he noticed the sky changing colors. He closed his eyes for a second and saw lightning striking the portal and closing it. Kudran opened his eyes to see the sky was still blue but it was changing colors. He ran back into the Town Hall.

"Hurry! Gather the Mages! Lightning will strike and close the Portal! The Mages must make a protective border around it!" He screamed.

The King stared at Kudran. "Then what are you waiting for? Go and get the mightiest of the mages!" King Terenas ordered. The townspeople began running to the Mage Towers and gathering Mages.

After a few hours, the Mages were all setup. They began chanting their new barrier spells. A thin, transparent wall began forming around them. The Mages looked up to see the sky becoming red, they heard thunder from afar and began worrying..
.
* * *

On the other side of the Portal, Korhal...

The Death Knights and Warlocks began chanting spells to close the Portal before them. They hadn't noticed it until a few hours ago. This portal however, was different from the others, stronger. The sky above them began to turn red. Thunder began to crackle above them.
Finally, lightning came crashing through the skies and into the Portal. The Portal itself began to implode then stopped and regrew. Another lightning struck it. The Portal weakened slightly. The Death Knights and Warlocks began to concentrate harder. Lightning Bolts filled the sky, many of them striking the Portal. The Orcs chuckled as they watched the Portal close little by little.

* * *

Azeroth...

The Mages from the Alliance were not doing too well. Lightning had struck the Portal many times. The barrier itself was cracking. The Barrier was on the brink of breaking, but the Mages would not give up. The barrier retracted again and the mages squinted. Pain surged through their bodies.

Lightning continuously banged at the barrier and the portal. Some of the mages fell to the ground in pure pain. Even the strongest of the Mages began to feel weak. The Portal began to retract and grow smaller. The Mages sighed and concentrated more. The Barrier began to reform but the lightning would not stop.

One of the Mages looked through the portal to see the Orcs chuckling and laughing. The Portal was now on the brink of closing. Now over half of the Mages had fallen. The last remaining Mage looked at the Portal one last time to see that the Orcs were gone and the Portal was blue rather than red-violet. The Mage knew they had failed and fell.

Kudran ran towards the Portal as fast as he could. When he arrived he saw it... the Portal, in a crystallized state. There was a diamond of some sort surrounding it. He looked to his right to see a group of Conjurers.

"The Portal is saved." he heard one of them say.

He looked to see one of his friends, Lochni, a Conjurer.

"We're here to help. We have decided to go through the Portal with you." Lochni said.
Kudran stared at the crystallized portal. Then looked at his old friend. "How in the world?" he asked.

The Conjurers smiled then turned and left to their magical towers. Kudran turned around to see Kristine staring at him.

"You can't go in there. I won't let you." she said.

Kudran stared back at Kristine. "You and I have been through a lot Kristine. But I guess this is where we'll separate. Remember the time we had to fight Skrorn, the bone dragon? It was a hard battle but we made it through. I know this portal will lead somewhere, I can feel it. And I'm sure my men and I will make it through." Kudran replied.

"You're not going. Not with that pitiful army. I'm going with you." Kristine told him.

Kudran was about to say no but the look in Kristine's eyes told him that he couldn't argue.

"Tomorrow?" he asked.

Kristine nodded and walked off to pack her weapons and armor. Kudran stood silently while watching the sun fall over the horizon. The once red sky was now becoming violet as the sun began to disappear. Kudran sighed. This may be the last sun fall he would ever see...

1 day later...

Kudran stared at the blue portal in front of him. The sun was just beginning to rise. He wondered what might happen if they were stuck inside the portal. He would have been the reason the Alliance fell. The peasants of the Alliance were still gathering wood, gold, and oil and soon it would be time to leave.

The soldiers of his army were still asleep... maybe there last. Kudran sighed. Whatever it was that told him to do this had better be right. He looked at his hip to see his golden knife, a mystical knife that was given to him by Sir Lothar himself and enchanted by the late Uther Lightbringer. They both had seen something inside Kudran, but he didn't know what.
As a child he saw visions of the future. Many had not believed him. As a teen, he trained to become a ranger. In his first battle, he was the only one to survive. After his first battle, he was ordered to become an advance scout for Sir Lothar. He was still young and courageous and had quickly joined. During a huge battle he had seen a vision, Lothar's dead body.

He had hurried back and stopped Lothar from dying. After a few more years he gained the King's trust as well. And now he stood here, staring at what was to become his future.

The sun finally rose high up into the sky. The soldiers had woken up. Some were eating and some were practicing their fighting skills while most were saying good bye to their families. A whole stack of bags were placed at the entrance of the portal and the peasants that had brought them were waiting to carry them into the blue portal.

Kudran was still standing in front of the blue portal, thinking. His thoughts were interrupted by the noise of a Knight's horse galloping. Kudran turned his head and saw a dark horse in front of him. He looked up to see the Paladin riding it.

"The Conjurers are ready to join us." the Paladin informed Kudran.

Kudran nodded. "Good."

After the soldiers ate and said their good byes, they began to line up in front of the mysterious blue portal. The Conjurers were in the back and checking to make sure that all their books of magic were there.

"All of you! I don't know where this will take us! But trust me. This is the only way to freedom!" Kudran shouted out loud. The troops cheered slightly and began their march forward. The "crystal" around the portal disappeared and the army of Kudran started moving through the portal, into a new world...
