As the remainder of the hordes in Draenor pass through the new portals created by Nur’zhul, the remaining clans of Azeroth sense a trauma in the Twisting Nether. The Stormreaver clan, long believed to have been destroyed by the Horde in the beginning of the war between the clans, had created a small settlement on the southwestern coast of Azeroth, by the island of Balor. A few of Gul'dan's most loyal servants, led by the death knight know as Dir'lun, had escaped the destruction of the clan and the assassination of Gul'dan. They built a city in a very secluded area, and believed that they would be safe. Soon after they had started their settlement they sensed that a human army had heard reports of the Orcs in the vicinity of the Stormreaver city and were intending to attack.
As you may remember, the Stormreavers based their clan of the arcane magiks. When Dir'lun sensed the oncoming attack he gathered all of the death knights, necromancers, and liches in to the center of the city where they focused their magiks and made the city and all of its inhabitants invisible. The army never discovered them and they kept themselves invisible for safety. Scouts roamed the lands of Azeroth in secret in discovered many things about the fallen Alliance and the remnants of the Horde. The city trained themselves an army of malicious Orcs, all invisible, and made numerous raids and assassinations across the lands.
It has now been fifty years since the Great Spell was cast and the attackers are feared thoughout Azeroth, known as the ‘Invisible Death’. It went on like this until one day an assassin on an attempt to kill a leader became visible and was killed. Dir'lun, which got into the minds of all of his assassins when they make an attack, was terrified. In next few weeks the Orcs noticed things becoming visible all of a sudden. Many raids failed and the humans realized that the Orcs were the 'Invisible Death."
Many of the humans were terrified with this development and believed rumors that a new portal had been opened by the clans in the Northlands and a new spell had been developed. Out of terror the Alliance reformed to deal with the threat they believed that was from the north. All human nations gathered every soldier and went to the north to destroy and capture the Orcish clans they believed would never be a threat. Most of the Orcs to the north were killed and some were enslaved but a few escaped (I thought I would not mess with the upcoming Warcraft3 storyline!!!) To the dismay of the humans, they found no portal, which they believed existed. The leaders made a cover-up that declared it as a spell created by renegade death knights to the north and called the attack a total victory.
With the alliance reunited and the Great Spell waning, Dir'lun knew that action must be taken. The human forces were too powerful to be separated and invisible attacks would be unsuccessful. He got the idea to bring back the necromancer that was the founder of the Stormreavers, the Orc that knew the location of the tomb of Sagaras, the Orc that could use his cunning mind and perverted creations to destroy the Alliance for good. Dir'lun wanted to resurrect the spirit of Gul'dan...
