Protoss Mission 1

Escape from Auir:
Bring Zaratul to the Warp Gates
Zaratul must Survive
Minimap as Drawn by Executor Deathwing
Map Size: 128x96

Protoss Mission one is not the hardest of missions to pass. However it does require a fair bit of micro-management. Below details how I, Deathwing, Executor of the Protoss journeyed through the mission.

Starting off with some Zealots Dragoons as well Zaratul. The Protoss force slowly advanced across the Valley, doing their best to ignore packs of Scourge which flew past their heads which were little threat as there were no air units available to the Protoss force.

It wasn't long before we reached the first Zerg Infestation, which included Sunken Colonies surrounded by scattered Nydus Canals. First of all we used Dragoon to take out Nydus Canals that were out of the range of the Sunken Colony's protection. Meanwhile the Zealots who stood guard in front of the Dragoons slaughtered the Zerglings which tried to attack the Dragoons. Then the full force of Dragoons and Zealots would charge forward, eliminating the Sunken Colony and Remaining Nydus Canals.

In this way our Protoss force marched through the valley infested with Zerg. The way in which we traversed the valley is shown on the minimap above. Sometimes I found it extremely useful to use the Dragoons to shoot down Overlords floating overhead, allowing Zaratul to get free Strikes at the Sunken Colony's and Nydus Canals. Zaratul also proved to be an adept scout, scouting out the Zerg blockades allowing the rest of the Protoss force to advance without worry of an ambush.

A Call for help led us to a fierce battle

On the way we found many Protoss bethren trapped by the Zerg, including two Zealots calling us to follow them to help. We followed at top speed, reaching a fierce battle.. any later had we arrived, our brethren would of surely died. This even happened on where I marked X on the minimap...

Countinueing on our journey, we met more Zerg resistance, however using previous tactics, they were easily overcome. Along the way more of our brethren was picked up, including a valiant group of four Zealot who single handedly tackled a massive Ultralisk. Finally on where I have marked Y, we found the remains of the Protoss township.. here we teamed up with a few more Templars and Warriors. The shield Batteries were also extremely use in restoring our near depleted shields.

The next Zerg resistance was harder to deal with, but the Psionic Storms from the templars leveled off the Hydralisk defence. Seeing a pattern to where the Zerg placed their defences, later we use the High Templars to cast their deadly Stroms near Nydus Canals, frying still burrowed Zerg.

In this way, our team reached the Warp Gate at the South East... the Zerg lauched a massive offence of Zerglings but luckily Raynor and Fenix held them off.. giving Zaratul and the entrenched Protoss enaugh time to step through the gate. Now we must establish a encampment is world of the Dark Templar.. I shall write about what we encounter there as soon as I can..
