Protoss Mission 7

The Insurgent:
Kill the Traitor Aldaris
Minimap as Drawn by Executor Deathwing
Map Size: 128x128

The Battle against the Templar forces was bitter and hard fought. Before I brief you on the outcome of the Battle against our own brethren, I shall once again remind you that the Redlines on the minimap signifies the paths of our land forces while the yellow line signifies our air force which in this battle, are mostly shuttles. The Blue dots signifies places where troops were loaded or unloaded.

Without High Templars or Arbiters, the only magical powers we could draw on was the Dark Archons which I found throughout the battle to be truly invaluable. Knowing their power, the first thing I ordered was the merging of two of the available Dark Templars into Dark Archons. The Probes were then sent to gather resources as more probes were constructed.

A quick scouting mission with a Dark Templar revealed a resource abundant plateau directly north of us in Position A shown on the minimap. Quickly I ordered 4 Dark Templars and a Dark Archon to move forwards and secure this expansion. A probe was swiftly sent to construct and Nexus and a Pylon there.

A Dark Archon Convinces a fellow Archon to fight for our Cause Only a minute or so past when Aldaris sent his first attack consisting of 2 Zealots and a Archon. However battle shifted quickly to our favor as a Dark Archon managed to 'convince' the Archon to follow our cause. A shield battery and a Photon Cannon was quickly constructed at the expansion to recharged the shields of the Dark Archon and discourage further attacks.

Meanwhile Dragoons and Zealots were being warped from the Gateways, below is a general build order in which we advanced:

Land Weapons Upgrade
Singularity Charge
Zealots at Gateway
Second Gateway
Dragoons/Dark templars at Gateways
75% of Dark Templars merged into Dark Archons
Robotics Facility
Shuttle at Robotics Facility
Observatory
Observers at Robotics Facility
Robotics Support Bay
Shuttle Speed Upgrade
Reavers at Robotics Facility

All through building this, Aldraris countinued attacking. The first with several Dragoons and Zealots which were countered by Dark Templars and Dragoons of out own. The second attack was a Reaver drop coupled by Dragoons, however the Mind Control from the Dark Archon sent the Reaver into our side, onc eagain switching the odds to our favor as well as giving us the Reaver Capacity Upgrade for free.

As a force of 3 Dark Templars and 3 Dragoons were constructed, I sent them westwards to scout. Here they found another suitable expansion which I have noted on the minimap as position C. Scouting upwards, the squad managed to find a suitable place to guard the new expansion. A Probe was soon brought in and another Nexus, Pylon and Photon Cannon was warped there.

Using the newly Mind Controlled Reaver as well as another of our own, we bombarded the Protoss outpost at C. The Dark Templars and Dragoons would sit back, annihilating any Zealots who came to destroy the reavers. WIth the Photons crashed, my force of 6 Dragoons was abelt to take over the Outpost at C. Meanwhile more Dragoons and Dark Archons were gated through both Gateways.

As the resources from all 3 bases countinued to flow in, I ordered the following things to be built:

Nexus and Pylon at C
Land Weapons Upgrade
3 Shield Batteries and 2 Photon Cannons at C
2 Extra Gateways
Dark Templars and Dragoons at Gateways, 1:1 Ratio
Second Forge
Plasma Shields at Second Forge
Augus Jewel at Templar Archives
Stargate
Corsairs at Stargate

Using four gateways, an impressive army of 12 Dragoons was soon constructed. It was then that I ordered the assassination of the Aldaris at D. After scouting with an Observer, I sent a shuttle With a Dark Archon and a Reaver along the yellow line marked on the minimap. Dropping off the Reaver at the Second blue Dot. Here the Reaver made short work of the blocking Photon Cannons, allowing the shuttle with the Dark Archon to safely reach where Aldaris stood. Using a single Mind Control, the astral projection was banished. There was only two more left to go...

Countinously constructing Dragoons and Dark Templars from the Gateways as well as Reavers and Shuttles from the Robotics facility, soon a large strike force was created. The army made short work of any attacks Aldaris sent by using the Dark Archons to mind control the enemy Archons and Reavers. On my orders, a force of 12 Dragoons, 5 Dark Archons, 4 Reavers, 2 of which was Mind Controlled and 3 Corsairs advanced towards the enemy outpost at E.

Dragoons reduces Aldaris's Outpost to Dust

After the defending Reavers were eliminated by Mind Control, my own Reavers levelled off the enemy Cannon defence. The Dragoons were then sent, destroying all remaining defence Aldaris had to master. In minutes the enemy base lay in ruins, with only four of our Dragoons and one of our own Reavers dead. The Dragoons then shot the Aldaris sitting atop the ramp, who, as we expected turn out to be another hallucination.

Setting defence up at E, another probe was brought to the outpost and another expansion established. Meanwhile, I ordered the upgrading of everything possible, including Scrab Damage for the Reavers. At the same time a Fleet Beacon was built and Disruption web Researched. The 4 Gateways continued warping Dark Templars and Zealots non-stop.

Aldaris, maddened by the destruction of another outpost, bore the complete might of armies upon my expansion at C. Caught unprepared, the warriors consisting of 7 Dragoons and 2 Dark Archons fought valiantly. Using Mind Control on the Carriers and feedback on the Templar Drops, the defence managed to hold them off for a while. However by the time my supporting army reached there, the expansion was reduced to rubble. Angered I used by squadron of 24 Dragoons, levelling off the attacking Carriers. the Shuttle carrying Templars were Mind Controlled, giving us Templars of our own. An Arbiter also fell to Mind Control. Once again the expansion at C was rebuilt.

Seeing there was no use continuing to defend, I sent my full force of 5 Reavers, 6 Dark Archons, 16 Dragoons, a Mind Controlled Carrier, an Arbiter and an Archon to Siege the Ramp at C. Aldaris put up a daring defence, using Psi-storm to destroy my Dragoons. However the Feedback ability of the Dark Archons soon reduced their psychic brethren to dust. Puncturing a hole in Aldaris's defences, I managed to sneak a shuttle with a Dark Archon into the Aldaris at G. Praying that the image was real, I ordered Mind Control to be cast...
Indeed it was...

With the revolt smashed.. Once again the Protoss can focus on the Xel'naga Temple, I fervently hope that the death of my brethren is worth the price.
