Zerg Mission 10

Omega:

Destroy all enemy Bases
Minimap as Drawn by Cerebrate Deathwing
Map Size: 192x192

Trapped on the Space Platform, there was no choice but to fight. It seemed that the fury of the Protoss, UED and Dominion are all focused on the comparatively tiny Hive Cluster I was trapped in. It was obvious this will be a tough battle, to escape and even more so to win.

Immediatly all three Hatcheries began morphing Drones. A Sunken Colony was also constructed on the ramp at the northern edge of the Hive cluster. These colonies proved invaluable in defending attacks from all sides. As Resources flowed into our base the following was constructed:

Hatchery at A
Hydralisks/Zerglings at Main Hatcheries Ratio 1:2
Drones at Hatchery at A
2 Sunken Colonies at A
Nydus Canal Linking Main Base and A
Evolve Hydralisk Speed
Hydralisks at both Hatcheries

As I had under my command the first 12 Zerglings and 6 Hydralisks, I knew two bases was not enough to hold the enemy off. Use the first of my military breeds, I sent the F, eliminating the single Goliath stationed there. Quickly a third Hive cluster was constructed at F. A Nydus Canal linking it to the main base quickly followed. 2 Spore Colonies and a Sunken Colony were also quickly constructed. Satisfied with the expansion, I continued base construction:

Spire
Evolve Overlord Movement Speed
Evolve Adrenal Glands
Evolve Zerg Carapace Level 1
Evolve Hydralisk Range
Evolve Zergling Movement Speed
Evolve to Greater Spire
Morph 3 Guardians and 2 Devourers
Hydralisks at all Hatcheries
Evole Zerg Flyer Weapons Level 1
Second Evolution Chamber
Evolve Zerg Missile Weapons Level 1
Evolve Zerg Carapace Level 2

With five Hatcheries and 3 Bases, it wasn't long before the following was researched. In a few minutes, a force of 24 Zerglings and 12 Hydralisks was also under my command. Meanwhile, the enemy had attack from all sides, but the Sunken Colonies at each opening managed to hold off. Spare Hydralisks were also assigned to defend these.

Hydralisks Swarm the Protoss Fleet Knowing that it is best to eliminate the Protoss early, I order the 24 Zerglings and 12 Hydralisks to stage and attack on the Protoss Base at B. The Guardians and Devourers also escorted these. Using the Guardians, I managed to take out enemy Photon Cannons from long range. As scouts and Corsairs came to retaliate, the Hydralisks destroyed them with ease, due to the corrosive spores. Meanwhile 12 More Hydralisks has just being constructed and were quickly sent as reinforcement. The group of 24 Zergling and 24 Hydralisks made a charge against B, although the Protoss put up an impressive defence of Carriers and Dark Templars, they were no match for the Hydralisk Spines. It was a good thing I caught the Protoss before they managed to research Psychic Storm.

Once the Outpost at B was levelled, I sent the 24 newly trained Hydralisks from main base south westwards along a different route. This way the forces attacked the Protoss base from both directions. Their defences mostly spent at reinforcing B, I managed to take out the Protoss main base with the loss of only a dozen or so Hydralisks. In minutes the first of the three fleets had being conquered.

However throughout this the other two fleets had not being stationary. The UED forces continuously sent out Battlecruiser assaults at both the Main Base and outpost at F, but the Hydralisks and spore colonies managed to hold these off. Marine sand Medics also continuously set siege on F, forcing me to move more Hydralisks through the Nydus canal for defence.

At the same time the Dominion forces launched a series of Nuclear Strikes, but the Overlord manage to spot most of these. Still a few nukes managed to get through now and then, levelling the out Spore Colonies defending the main base. Knowing that the nukes will forever be a threat, I decided that the Dominion must be eliminated with urgency. Heh sometimes I do wish my Queen did not make so much enemies...

A quick scouting mission with a few Zerglings revealed that the Dominion defence is virtually impenetrable over land. Siege Tanks manned the platforms striking down anyone who is foolish enough to stray too close. A hatchery was constructed at B and C, yet again increasing out income. Much needed for the assault we planned.. Hence I decided an aerial Siege would be best. To prepare for it, the following was evolved:

Mutalisks at all Hatcheries
Evolve Zerg Flyer Carapace Level 1
Evolve Zerg Missile Weapons Level 2
Evolve Overlord Transportation
Mutalisk/Guardian/Devourer/Hydralisk Ratio 1:1:1:1
Second Spire
Evolve Zerg Flyer Weapons Level 2
Evolve Zerg Flyer Carapace Level 2
Morph a Queen

Once a swarm of 12 Guardians, 12 Devourers, 12 Mutalisks as well as the 36 Hydralisks from the previous attack was under my command. I decided that there was no better time to strike at the Dominion Fleet. Leaving around 16 Hydralisks to defend, I parked the remaining Hydralisks into Overlords.

The mighty aerial swarm slowly advanced towards D, annihilating any air defence in it's paths While the Guardians destroyed the missile turrets and the Goliath. Once the immediate area was cleared, the 20 Hydralisks quickly disembarked the Overlords, taking out any remaining anti air that tried to attack my aerial swarm. Satisfied with the progress, I sent my Guardians forward, this quickly picked off the Siege Tanks, which were situated on the ledges and behind structures. Once this was done, the whole swarm charged forwards. What wraith that tried to engage me were immediately destroyed by the Hydralisks while any land defences were picked off by the Guardians. Only the Science Vessels proved to be problematic, but the few irradiate they through on our Overlords were shrugged off. After all the swarm does not care about casualties.

The Terran responded the attack by sending reinforcements of everything they had from their second base at E, but even these could stand no chance against the Guardians barraging spores. The Queen swiftly infested the Command Centers. Like a wave of death, the swarm advanced Southwards, taking out the last of the Dominion outposts. With their forces crumbling, all Acturus could do was flee.

Smiling with victory near, I bent the full force of the swarms' fury upon the United Earth Directorate. I must commend the UED for their furious onslaughts of Battlecruisers, however the Devourers of my own Weakened them with the deadly spores allowing the Hydralisks deal grievous damage in single shots...

Knowing that the UED will be the toughest to take out, I decided to build up my forces, the 4 Infested Command Centers from the Destruction of the Dominion base was floated over to the main base. Meanwhile 2 Hatcheries was constructed where to Dominion is to be, allowing yet more income. This done, I focused on strengthening my forces. The UED attacked frequently, using Battlecruisers, Infantry and Goliath on both the Main Base and the outpost at B. However using Nydus canals, my Hydralisks could teleport from one hive cluster to the next with ease. The underground networks surely proved their worth in this battle at Omega.

Satified with defences, I began the construction of the mighty offence that would wipe out anyone who opposed the swarm. Below are the build:
Evolve Zerg Flyer Weapons Level 3
Evolve Zerg Flyer Carapace Level 3
Evolve Zerg Missile Weapons Level 3
Evolve Zerg Carapace Level 3
Zerg Flyers/Hydralisks at all Hatcheries Ratio: 1:2
Guardian/Mutalisk/Devourer Ratio: 3:1:2
Infested Marines at Infested Command Centers

With over 7 Hatcheries morphing warriors of the swarm, it took only the blink of an eye for a massive army to be morphed. Impressed, I surveyed the 60 Hydralisks, 15 Guardians, 5 Mutalisks, 10 Devourers and 8 Infested Marines. Quickly i ordered the annihilation of the UED fleet.

Escourted by 12 Overlords, the Hydralisks lead the way, following the red line depicted on the minimap. The following Guardians instantly annihilated the few Siege Tanks. Mutalisks flew with Guardians while the Devourers lead the air force, slightly in front.

The Zerg swarms Decimate UED forces

Resisitance was futile against such power, the swarm trampled over enemy structures and men alike. Meanwhile the guardians pounded any anti-land within the enormous rampage and soon everything apart from the UED outpost at G was cleared. Immediately I ordered the remaining 50 Hydralisks into the Overlords.

Using the Guardians I managed to pound a way through the enemy anti air. The Goliath of the enemy did reasonable damage, but was not enough to stop the might of the Swarm. The Devourers managed to destroy any Battlecruisers with patrolled the air. The Hydralisks, which flowed forth from the Overlords soon, finished off the rest.

Once again the only sign of opposing forces was rubble, no prisoners were taken, the Queen does not take prisoners. Let all know what would happen to them if they opposed the Swarm. Satisfied I rested, nothing well now threatens the rulings of the swarm. What remained of the pathetic Human and Protoss civilisations can be crushed at any time. However there are reports of a Portal opening on a nearby planet, housing never before creatures of Green Skin wielding deadly magics that's rumoured to be able to bring their dead back to life in the form of corpses and summon massive orbs of death. A Race, which call themselves as The Horde... but that's just a rumour and after all who can stand the fury of the Swarm?
