Zerg Mission 6

The Fury of the Swarm:

Destroy all UED Scientests
Minimap as Drawn by Cerebrate Deathwing
Map Size: 192x128

Even as I raced to establish Psi links with our Broods to fight off the renegade Zerg, a Zerg Swarm stampeded through our Hive clusters at E and D. Although some forms defence was already established, these were no match for the renegade attack. Knowing that the Hive clusters at E, C, B and D are lost, at least for the moment, I decided focus all attention on the build up of units in Hive cluster A.

To counter enemy Drops, the two Creep Colonies were mutated into Sunken Colonies, secondly Drones were built from both Hatcheries. This continued till I had around 17 Drones gathering mineral and 5 Drones gathering gas. It was then that I turned my attention on military matters.

Immediatly Mutalisks was mutated whenever there was spare gas. The first 3 Mutalisks charged at Outpost E, destroying the two Lurkers stationed there as well as the Drones, harassing the renegade Zerg till reinforcements of Hydralisks came. Outnumbered, they flew back to main base and joined up with the 3 Extra Mutalisks, the swarm of six harassed the enemy outpost C, managing to kill the Hatchery before significant amount of Hydralisks came to their aid.

Meanwhile the main base advanced.

A Zergling Drop cripples the Renegade Zerg Air DefenceAs soon as the Overlord Transportation was Researched, I sent the 8 Mutalisks currently available to me as well as 3 Overlords full of Zerglings to the enemy outpost at B. Using the Zerglings to destroyed the Hydralisks and other forms of Anti-air while the Mutalisks kill any Lurkers or anti land the enemy had. Soon outpost B was mine. Quickly, a drone was brought from main base establishing an outpost here. 2 sunken colonies were also hastily morphed to prevent enemy land assaults. Meanwhile more Mutalisks were morphed at main base. As gas became available, more Zerglings were also built to reinforce the new Outpost.

With the expansion secured, an Extractor was built straight away giving me twice the gas I once had. Finally my aerial forces can truly begin to multiply. As well as this, it allowed a much faster rate of advancement:
Upgrade to Hive
Mutalisks at Base A
Drones/Zerglings at Base B
Evolution Chamber
A Spore Colony at Base A
Nydus Canal between Base A and B
Upgrade to Greater Spire
Mutalisk/Guardian/Devourer Ratio: 4:1:1
Evolve Flyer Armour Level 1

As I had 3 Guardians, 12 Mutalisks and 3 Devourers under my Control, I began a Siege on the larger Renegade Zerg Hive cluster at D. The enemy retaliated with Hydralisks, however they were annihilated by the Guardians at long range. Mutalisks of my own and the Devourers annihilated the few Mutalisks the Orange sent to help.

While the Zerg was distracted, Drones were brought from B and secretly built 2 Sunken Colonies at the outskirts of the enemy base at D. The Guardians were then used to take out any Lurkers still guarding the base from far range. Once these were done, the 30 Zerglings I had charged at D, ripping all Hydralisks and Spore Colonies to shreds. With the enemy anti-air crumbling, I ordered the Mutalisks and Guardians swooped down into the chaos, levelling the enemy Hive cluster in minutes. Another Hatchery was soon constructed at D and more Minerals and Gas was flowing in smoothly.

With the brown Brood weakened and more resources flowing, the following advancements were made:

Evolve Flyer Weapons Level 2
Mutalisk/Guardian/Devourer Ratio: 3:2:2
Evolve Flyer Armour Level 2

As soon as 8 Devourers, 8 Guardians and 12 Mutalisks were within my command, I sent them northward to destroy weaken the Orange Brood. Their outpost at C fell without a fight, and quickly another Hatchery was constructed there. Meanwhile my aerial Swarm advanced slowly toward E. The Zerg put up a good fight, using Mutalisks and Devourers, however my anti far outnumbered him. Meanwhile the 8 Guardians pounded down any land forces in the way, be it Hydralisks and Spore Colonies. Once again my swarm was victorious. Meanwhile more Mutalisks were morphed at main Base. Sending 4 of them to guard the new expansion at C, the rest joined my main force and slowly advanced onto the Terran Research Facility.

There was really nothing that the Scientists could do to stop the onslaught of my swarm. The pitiful Infantry and Missile Turrets fell before the might of 12 Guardians. The Devourers Guarded the advancement, annihilating any Mutalisks strayed towards the Terran's Aid. Slowly my force advanced, taking care to take out the marines and Hydralisks at long range. Once the Missile Turrets were destroyed, the Mutalisks advanced forwards, helping the Guardians to annihilate all the UED Scientist.

Devourers, MUtalisks and Guardians wreck havoc on the Terran Research Facility

As the last scientist dropped dead onto the concrete floor, the Zerg swarms that were under their control came under the sway of ours. The Ultralisks that set passive in their compounds charged forwards, annihilating anything left. Victory was once again urs.
