Night Elf Hero Combos

Version: Beta V314
Game Type: 1 vs 1
Suggested Maps: Any
Recommended Heroes: Any
Recommended Skill Level: 5-20
Author: Nightmyre

NE heroes are different from those of the other races. Whereas UD has obvious hero combinations in DK + DL dual aura, or DL + Lich army nuking, HU has MK + AM + Pally general devestation or AM + BLM + MK army nuking, Orc has FS + BM mass summons or TC + FS army nuking, NE doesn't have the same options. Only one of their heroes has an AoE spell, and only one of their heroes has a long-ranged single-target spell. As such, hero combinations with NE are somewhat iffy. This guide will deal with possible combinations, as well as what armies go well with them.

The Classic: DH + PoTM + KoTG.

This hero combination, popularised in classic, is highly effective in almost any NE army. The DH can tank very well, and cause mass havoc with immolation, while the PoTM boosts your ranged army with trueshot. The KoTG third enables you to get entangle, which is useful even late game for utility purposes.

As far as armies go, this combo will work with near anything. Generally, since you have a PoTM, you aren't going to want to use bears. Archers work nicely, as do dryads, since the DH can tank for them and the PoTM boosts them. In general, if you have no other ideas, go with this one.

Your DH will want Immo mainly, PoTM will want owl scout mainly, and KoTG will want entangle mainly.

Hero Assassination: KoTG + Warden + PoTM.

The addition of Warden's Shadow Strike allows NE players to stop enemy heroes in their tracks almost indefinately. Combined with the huge power of archers, and effective usage of mountain giants, this can be extremely deadly. Fully upgraded archers with PoTM's trueshot aura and mountain giant support rip through heroes in seconds.

The above army works best with this strat, combined with a few hunts. The other possibility is to simply go pure air, and use the assassination skills combined with the huge power of chims to just wipe heroes out instantly.

Your KoTG will want to focus on entangle, Warden on shadow strike, and PoTM on fire arrows. This will give you maximum hero assassination power.

The New Classic: DH + Warden

The new NE hero, Warden, is extremely powerful at higher levels. Combined with DH, the two can wreak havoc on enemy armies. DH with Immo and Eva, and Warden with FoK and Blink, can lay waste to most armies relatively quickly, and still get out alive. This strat works best with armies that need to be ignored. Archers and DoTT, or Dryads, work very nicely with this.

Army Nuking: Warden + Naga + Panda.

The addition of neutral heroes has given NE the possibility of army nuking as well. This combo works with any army. Warden wants FoK, Naga Fork, and Panda BoF.
